Meet the team

Osteopath

I graduated with a Degree in Osteopathy in 1999 and have worked in a number of private clinics before setting up my own practice in Heaton Mersey and I also run a private practice from within a GP surgery in Wilmslow.

Having originally trained as a nurse I can draw on the knowledge and experience that I gained from working within the hospital environment. This enables me to have a fuller understanding of the underlying health issues which people present with from the medical perspective.

Since retraining as an osteopath I feel I am able to give time and a much more holistic approach to each person who comes for help.

Osteopathy does more than just help with immediate relief of pain. It is about giving you a better understanding of your problem and looking at all aspects of your life from what your posture is like at work to the type of exercise that will help you most so that you can achieve optimum health.

Osteopath

Jamie’s passion for osteopathy started when he was recovering from a personal injury and he recognized first-hand the healing benefits of osteopathy. He now extends that passion to the treatment of his own patients.

He trained at Leeds Beckett University graduating with a Master’s in Osteopathy.

He enjoys dealing with a wide range of conditions and has a special interest in sport participating himself in martial arts, boxing, football, CrossFit and weight lifting, so if you want to know how to do that perfect squat then Jamie’s your man!

Jamie is interested in the effects poor posture has on the body, often seeing people with back pain, neck pain and headaches from poor position from frequent use of computers or perhaps bad technique when digging.

He is keen to educate his patients on how best to use their bodies relevant to the task they are doing to reduce the risk of injury and to provide a tailored exercise programme to maintain good tone and fitness for future health.

Chiropodist

Liz qualified in 1983 with a Diploma in Podiatry and later went on to complete a Degree in Podiatric Medicine. She brings with her many years of experience having worked for 13 years at Tameside and Glossop NHS Trust as a senior podiatrist. After this she spent some time in Africa supporting her husband in humanitarian work before returning to England and setting up in private practice.

She has experience in nail surgery, making orthotics (shoe inserts) and an interest in diabetes but mostly just enjoys ensuring that the people she treats leave feeling that they have been really well cared for and that their feet are much more comfortable.

Acupuncturist

Pauline is qualified and experienced in the practice of acupuncture and acupressure massage. She trained for 3 years in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York. She is a member of the British Acupuncture Council.

Pauline became interested in acupuncture after having treatment herself. Acupuncture helped improve her general health and sparked her interest in the Chinese approach to medicine.

Pauline attends regular courses to extend her skills and keeps up to date with the latest research. She also gained a distinction in her Masters qualification evaluating the impact of her acupuncture treatments during a 12-month pilot project of NHS patients in primary care.
