I am always advising others to exercise, so I thought maybe I’d just get out there and lead by example, so I’ve set myself the challenge of the coast to coast, a 137 mile ride over the Pennines from Whitehaven to Newcastle in July 2015. Many of my patients will know that this is more of a psychological challenge for me as the last time I was on a bike I slid on the wet road, came off and fractured my arm. I’m planning on staying injury free this time!
As community is also important to us here at the Hol-Med clinic, I’ve decided to use this as a fundraising opportunity for our local charity Beechwood Cancer Care who do a wonderful job of supporting individuals and their relatives through a very difficult time in their lives.
I’m hoping to raise a minimum of £500 but would really like to collect £1000 for their silver wing appeal. We all know someone who has been affected by cancer (I nursed my own father in my early twenties when he was suffering from lung cancer) so I’m hoping that you will also think of those dear to you who have been affected and be moved to give generously at www.justgiving.com/margaret-gul
