Osteopathy is a safe and effective treatment for musculo-skeletal problems, using hands-on techniques to assess and treat any dysfunction affecting the normal working of the body.
Osteopathic techniques work with the body's own natural ability to heal. A variety of methods can be used to stretch and mobilise the muscles, ligaments and joints to provide pain relief and improve function.
During a course of treatment advice is given to help an individual to identify areas in which they can help themselves. This may include the best exercise to strengthen the problem area, postural advice and ergonomic set up at work
Neck pain and headaches
Hip, knee and ankle problems
We take time to listen to you and find out about your symptoms, general health, activities, diet and lifestyle. This helps us to make an accurate diagnosis and suggest appropriate treatment(s) for you to consider.
We then examine the areas of the body that are affected which usually includes looking at your posture, asking you to do some simple movements and palpating the muscles and joints to assess the dysfunction. We may also do some test such as reflexes and measure your blood pressure.
As one area of dysfunction can affect another higher or lower we may need to look at your whole body. It is likely that you will need to remove some of your clothing so please wear appropriate loose clothing and underwear for your comfort.
If you have had any scans or tests done recently then bringing a copy of the results with you, and a list of your current medications will further help us to assess your condition and give you the most appropriate treatment and advice.
The conditions most commonly treated by podiatrists are wide and varied from removing hard skin, callouses or corns to surgery for ingrowing toenails.
Podiatrists also do full biomechanical assessments to assess how the foot and lower limb are functioning. A dropped arch can cause pain in the foot or higher up in the knee or even the hip. Orthotics (insoles) are made to help improve the foot position reducing stress on the joints above and so alleviating pain.

The ancient Chinese believed that the body’s own energy force or ‘Qi’ (pronounced ‘chee’) travelled throughout the body along channels or ‘meridians’. Based on traditional belief, if the meridians become obstructed, the Qi is unable to flow and can become deficient or excessive and this can result in pain or illness. Traditional acupuncturists believe that the Qi balance can be restored by stimulating specific points along the meridians.

Homeopathy is a natural and effective scientific system of mind-body-spirit integrative healing. It is the second largest form of medicine in the world and suitable for everyone, including babies.
Homeopathy works by enhancing the body’s natural ability to heal itself. A single, carefully chosen homeopathic remedy offers the help needed to restore a state of balance and wellbeing.
There are over 2500 homeopathic remedies and they come from a wide variety of sources such as plants, minerals and animals and other naturally-occurring substances. They are prepared via a unique, highly controlled process of dilution, which renders them non-toxic yet, paradoxically, more effective
Since homeopathy is used to treat people rather than illnesses, anyone, whatever their diagnosis, can benefit from homeopathic treatment. Homeopathy works effectively in a wide variety of acute and chronic problems including infectious disease, allergies, gynaecological difficulties, digestive problems, and so on. It also helps to prevent future trouble by increasing the individual's strength and resistance.
Nutritional advice is given as part of the consultation process by Manu our Homeopath. A session using kinesiology can provide further benefits as it can determine your nutritional and vitamin deficiencies, along with food sensitivities and allergies.
Herbal/homeopathic remedies (including conventional treatments) may not work effectively if nutrition is poor. Certain conventional drugs can also affect assimilation of nutrients such as Magnesium in people taking antacids or disturbed gut flora for patients on antibiotics.

Kinesiology makes use of muscle testing techniques to monitor the flow of energy throughout the body on a very fine level. The assessment techniques are good at identifying the causes of problems and can be useful in pinpointing the sources of ill health and fatigue that have no obvious medical causes. It lets the body reveal precisely where the problems may lie and what the body may need to improve the energy.
Corrections are made by gentle massage and touch on reflex and acupuncture points. Kinesiology makes use of specific body movements and may suggest changes in lifestyle or nutrition.
